The government has selected 85 non-resident Bangladeshis as CIPs (Commercially Important Persons) for the year 2021 for making significant contributions to the country's economy.
In the notification issued by the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment last Wednesday, the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment issued a notification publishing the list of 85 NRB CIPs selected from all over the world in three different categories for 2021.
Out of these 85 selected people, Mohammad Sohel Rana, a prominent Bangladeshi businessman living in the Maldives, has been selected as the Non-Resident Bangladeshi Commercial Important Person (CIP) 2022 in the category of importer of Bangladeshi products abroad from the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment. He has been CIP four times in a row from Maldives.

It is to be noted that Maldivian expatriate businessman Alhaj Sohel Rana, chairman of Global Rich Group of Companies, has been nominated as CIP for the 4th consecutive time in the category of importer of Bangladeshi products abroad.
